The Polish Piano Tuners Association (SPSF) is currently the only group consociating tuners in Poland. It was found on March 17, 2007 and its purpose is to integrate professionals in the field in our country. There have been a few attempts to create an organization with the same profile but the SPSF is the longest one operating after World War II.
There are currently 82 members, including 6 honorary ones: Elwira Fibiger, Bolesław Kwiatkowski, Beniamin Vogel, Wojciech Świtała, Lutz Reibeholz, Stanisław Leszczyński.
The association focuses on a few areas. It aims to raise the prestige of profession, to increase professional competence of tuners, to assist with legal and professional help and to initiate and oversee creating laws normalizing our work.
In 2009 the Polish Piano Tuners Association became a member of the Union of European Piano Builders’ Associations Europiano. Since 2015 one of the members Tomasz Walczak is the official agent to contact with Europiano.
