The annual meeting of Europiano delegates was held on November 8-9 in Ludwisburg. The meeting was attended by a Polish delegation with Szymon Jasnowski, president of SPSF.
On the first day, a meeting of delegates from 17 European associations of tuners and renovators was held at the Oscar-Walcker Schulle School. During this day, the structure, curriculum and admission rules of the OWS school were presented. Delegates were able to see the school's equipment and participate in some of the classes. At OWS, students learn not only how to build and tune pianos and pianos, but also how to build pipe organs and repair brass instruments.
The gallery was not found!On the second day, a formal meeting of delegates was already held, where current issues and challenges facing the Europiano Association were discussed. Among the topics discussed were the following:
Europiano magazine - after the death of the current publisher, Europiano will take over the role of publisher in order to continue publishing this magazine in paper form and enriching it with an electronic form in the future.
Europiano office - after the resignation of the company that used to run the office, the association does not have an office, so a search for a new address and a company to run the office is currently underway.
Nomenclature - the issue of unifying the nomenclature of different parts of instruments, types of wood and tools for the production and repair of pianos and pianos has been raised. Currently, there is a website at nomenclatur.com, which needs to be updated with additional languages (including Polish).
The europiano.org website - needs to be updated and changed to a more modern and dynamic form.
Examinations - there is a need to create an examination committee composed of all member countries to develop second-level examinations. It was agreed that by the next congress it would be advisable to develop the
exam requirements.
Deadlines - the next delegate meeting will be held in spring 2025 in Nuremberg during the Akustika fair, and the general delegate congress will be held in November 2025 in London. The delegation from Spain proposed that the next Europiano Congress be held in 2027 in Cordoba.
Poland - The delegation from Poland read a letter from the SPSF Board of Directors to the Europiano President with information and an invitation to the Piano Congress, which will be held in Warsaw on September 25-28, 2025. The information was received with enthusiasm and met with great interest.
