About the Association

The association focuses its activities around several main streams of activity. These serve:

  • Raising the professional prestige of those associated with pianos and pianos,
  • Improving the individual professional skills of tuners,
  • legal and substantive assistance from SPSF affiliates,
  • initiating the development of the law that normalizes the functioning of the piano industry

The association was established on March 17, 2007 at a founding convention in Grodzisk Mazowiecki on the initiative of two tuners, Andrzej Kruszewski and Andrzej Wlodarczyk. This meeting was aimed at attempting to create and then register a formation working for the integration and consolidation of people professionally dealing with pianos and pianos in our country.

It was another such attempt. This time it was successful. At the first founding convention, 37 people were present. We were impressed by the turnout and the commitment of everyone gathered at this meeting. Very efficiently and quickly we were able to establish the founding committee and set the most important statutory goals for the association. At present, the SPSF has 106 regular members, who are tuners and restorers.

Within a year from that day, on March 25, 2008 to be exact, we were registered in the District Court for the capital city of Warsaw under the official name: the Association of Polish Piano Tuners with the KRS number 000 030 1615. In 2009, during the Europiano Congress in Hradec Králové, on May 28, we were accepted as the seventeenth organization into the Union of European Piano Builders' Associations Europiano.

In the Association's not-so-long but already notable history, more than a dozen member conventions have been held:
